01The round
Anthropic announced approximately $3.5 billion at a reported $61.5 billion post-money valuation, led by Lightspeed Venture Partners with participation from a broad investor group.
The company said proceeds would fund next-generation model development, compute capacity, international expansion and research on interpretability and alignment.
02Context
The round came shortly after the Claude 3.7 generation and during a period of rapid growth in enterprise API consumption. Six months later Anthropic raised again at a materially higher reported valuation.
