01Chronology of disclosed rounds
The list below reflects rounds announced by Anthropic or its investors. Amounts and valuations are as announced or as widely reported at the time; private-company terms are rarely disclosed in full.
- 2021 — Series A, reported at around $124 million.
- 2022 — Series B, reported at around $580 million.
- 2023 — Google investment and cloud arrangement announced.
- May 2023 — Series C, announced at approximately $450 million.
- September 2023 — Amazon announces an investment commitment of up to $4 billion, completed in 2024.
- November 2024 — Amazon announces a further $4 billion, taking its disclosed total to $8 billion.
- March 2025 — Series E of approximately $3.5 billion at a reported $61.5 billion post-money valuation, led by Lightspeed Venture Partners.
- September 2025 — Series F of approximately $13 billion at a reported $183 billion post-money valuation, led by ICONIQ.
02How to read these figures
Post-money valuations from private rounds are a function of the terms of that specific round. They are not market prices and they do not imply that shares can be bought or sold at that level.
Strategic commitments that combine equity with cloud spending are also not directly comparable to conventional venture cheques, because part of the value returns to the investor as revenue.
